Who is Midland?

Midland is a touring country music group with a distinct retro style that comes to life through both their music and personal style. Originally from Texas, the trio, Mark Wystrach, Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy formed the band back in 2016 after first playing together at the Sonic Ranch. Their critically-acclaimed sophomore album LET IT ROLL (Big Machine Records) earned the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart upon release, receiving praise from Rolling Stone, Variety, NPR and Entertainment Weekly among others.

Midland has been nominated for several CMA's as well as multiple Grammy awards including Vocal Group of the Year, Single of the Year and New Artist of the Year.

Along with creating chart topping music and bringing a natural electricity to their live shows, Midland is also passionate about our world and taking care of the environment. Through a partnership with Proud Source Water, they were able to accomplish their goal of removing plastic bottles from their tour. A proud partner, Midland is helping us create a ripple effect, one show at a time.

Q & A

Q: Why do you feel connected to Proud Source Water?

A: Midland is a touring band. We love playing shows and we're almost always on the road. We also think the world is a fine place and worth fighting for. Because of that, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and waste. We had identified removing plastic water bottles from tour as a priority right away. It's such an egregious amount of plastic and it takes a huge toll on the environment. Luckily, we discovered Proud Source water in a green room in Los Angeles before heading into a radio show. We asked our manager to reach out and within days the Proud Source team offered to help us accomplish our goal of removing plastic bottles from tour entirely. We'll never go back to plastic and we're so happy to have this water with us each day and night on tour. We love it.

Q: What makes you proud?

A: We take immense pride in our music. As a band we're always chasing the perfect song. It's a goal that doesn't have a finish line. We may write a song that we love in the moment, but as we grow and discover new influences we are in a constant state of searching. It's one of the greatest joys of being a band and its something we take a great deal of pride in.
